Electric strike NB 1711 fail safe (inverted)

The Electric strike NB 1711 fail safe is made for pedestrian gates and the entrance doors of apartment buildings, and connects to any building intercom.

Its dimensions are 20.5 × 67 × 28.5 mm (width × height × depth) and the latch depth is adjustable, which takes up tolerances in the installation. The body is made of steel. The housing is symmetrical and reversible - the same model works on DIN left and DIN right doors and can be fitted vertically or horizontally.

Unlike the usual models, this one works the other way round: it stays closed while it is energised, and when the power is cut by a signal the entrance opens. That behaviour is called inverted or fail safe, and it is used on exits that must be passable during a power failure.

It is supplied with a DC coil for continuous duty (100 % ED): 12 V DC with 60 Ω and 200 mA, or 24 V DC with 150 Ω and 160 mA. Tear resistance is 4000 N and the unit is tested over 250,000 openings. The stainless steel strike plate is not included and is bought separately, while the screws for fixing the strike to it are supplied.
