Electric strike BIRA MINI 12V without memory or brake AC/DC

The Electric strike BIRA MINI 12V without memory or brake is made for pedestrian gates and the entrance doors of apartment buildings, and connects to any building intercom. The entrance is released by the intercom signal, with no key.

MINI series strikes are narrow and have a small, symmetrical housing, which makes them ideal for aluminium profiles and narrow frames. The housing is zinc-plated (silver zinc), not stainless steel, and the latch is zinc-aluminium alloy (ZnAl) with a galvanic coating. The manufacturer's dimensions are 16.2 × 67 × 28 mm (width × height × depth), and the latch depth can be adjusted by up to 3.5 mm.

It works fail-secure (NC – normally closed): the entrance stays locked while there is no power and is released for as long as the signal lasts. Mechanical strength is 3000 N (300 kg) and the unit is tested over 200,000 opening cycles.

It is built into the frame of DIN left and DIN right doors. The strike plate is not included and is bought separately, while the screws for fixing the strike to the plate are supplied. The manufacturer gives no separate cut-out size: the cut-out in the frame has to take the symmetrical 67 × 16.2 × 28 mm housing, and the gap between door and frame at the latch should be 3–5 mm. It is connected with two wires to the output of the intercom or controller (AC/DC, polarity does not matter), and it should be installed by a qualified electrician.
