Security backplate PRO F4 bronze lever-pull handle

The Security backplate PRO F4 bronze lever-pull handle for wooden or metal doors is the most common way to add security to an existing door: it is affordable, easy to fit and protects against the most common burglary method, cylinder snapping. Doors on which the cylinder protrudes from the backplate (normal on wooden doors because of the thin outer rebate) can be opened silently in seconds.

The backplate is made of anodised aluminium (F4, bronze anodised) reinforced with a steel plate, and the security plate is 15 mm thick – twice as thick as an ordinary backplate – so the cylinder does not protrude. The inner plate is fixed through the door leaf to the outer plate with two screws and no screws are visible on the outside, so the backplate cannot be unscrewed or forced off from the outside.

This set has a fixed pull handle on the outside, so the door cannot be opened without a key (a lock with a lift function is required). It is mainly used for rooms where access without a key is restricted.

The backplate comes in three centre distances – 90, 85 and 92 mm (from the centre of the spindle hole to the centre of the key or cylinder hole) – and suits left- and right-hand doors with a thickness of up to 55 mm. The backplate has an opening for a euro profile cylinder (17.5 × 33.5 mm, narrow part 10.5 mm); the cylinder and keys are not included and are bought separately.
