Security backplate Dieckmann F4 handle-knob bronze

The Dieckmann F4 security backplate handle-knob bronze is the most common and most affordable way to upgrade existing wooden or metal doors: it is easy to fit and protects against the most frequent break-in method, cylinder snapping.

The backplate is made of aluminium and reinforced with a steel plate, with a matt bronze finish. The 15 mm security plate is twice as thick as a standard backplate, so the cylinder does not protrude. A protruding cylinder – on wooden doors because of the thin outer rebate – can be snapped silently in just a few seconds.

The backplate is fixed with screws that pass through the door into the inner receiving plate, so it cannot be unscrewed or forced off from the outside. The set has a fixed outer knob that prevents opening without a key, so a lock with a lifting mechanism is required; such sets are mostly used on entrance doors of rooms with restricted access.

The centre distance is 90 mm as standard (from the centre of the handle spindle to the centre of the keyhole or cylinder opening). The backplate suits left- and right-hand doors, and all mounting material is included.
