Security backplate Dieckmann F4 handle-handle bronze

The security backplate Dieckmann F4 handle-handle bronze is the most common way to add security to an existing wooden or metal door: it is affordable, easy to fit and protects against the most common burglary method – snapping the cylinder.

The backplate is made of aluminium with a steel reinforcement and has a matt bronze finish. The security plate is 15 mm thick, twice the thickness of a standard backplate, so the cylinder does not protrude and is harder to reach from outside.

Doors with a cylinder protruding from the backplate – on wooden doors almost always, because of the thin outer rebate – can be opened silently in a few seconds by snapping the cylinder. The backplate cannot be unscrewed or forcibly removed from the outside, because it is fixed with screws through the door leaf to the inner counter plate.

The centre distance is the standard 90 mm (from the centre of the handle spindle hole to the centre of the key or cylinder opening). The backplate suits left- and right-hand doors, and everything needed for mounting is included.
