PRO security backplate black handle/handle

The PRO security backplate black handle/handle for wooden or metal doors is the most common way to add security to an existing door: it is affordable, easy to mount and protects against the most common break-in method – snapping the cylinder. A cylinder that protrudes from the backplate (on almost every wooden door, because of the thin outer rebate) can be snapped silently in just a few seconds.

The backplate is made of aluminium and reinforced with a steel plate. The security plate is 15 mm thick, twice the thickness of a standard backplate, so the cylinder does not protrude and cannot be gripped from the outside.

The backplate cannot be unscrewed or forced off from the outside to reach the cylinder, because it is fixed with screws through the door to the inner receiving backplate. Available in centre distances of 85, 90 and 92 mm – the distance between the centre of the handle square and the centre of the keyhole or cylinder opening.

It suits left- and right-hand doors with a thickness of up to 65 mm. Everything needed for mounting on the door is included: the outer backplate, the inner receiving backplate, the handles and the screws for fixing through the door; a cylinder is not included.
